Punjab civil services examination 2014, Online Registration Open

This note is for all the aspirants for the Punjab civil services examination for year 2014. All information regarding the online application date, forms and syllabus will be given as specified by the government and its norms.

PCS exam 2014 is a competitive exam that is to be held by the Punjab civil services the joint venture for various civil services posts or services. The government has decided to employ the selected candidates in the starting month of the year 2014 only.
There are in total 120 posts available for the candidates. Following are the posts decided by the Punjab government:-

Eligibility criteria:
Age criteria: Punjab civil services authorities have set age limit for all the posts that are announced. Any kind of excuse or difference in age of even one day will not be entertained. The age limit for general category candidates as prescribed by the government is between 20 to 38 years. The candidate must not be below the age of 20 as on 1 January 2014 and also not greater than 38 years of age as on 1 January 2014.

The age relaxation for other categories other than general category is as per Punjab government rules.

Age limit can be relaxed up to 4 years for women categories particularly for widows and divorced women.

However, physically handicapped persons are provided with the age relaxation up to 48 years.

Qualification criteria:-
The candidates applying for any of the above posts must have a bachelor’s degree that must be completed till year 2013. Last year students from any field will not be excused.

Candidates must have passed Punjabi as a subject till matriculation or its equivalent standard.

Nationality:
The candidate must be
1.   The citizen of India;
2.   Citizen of Nepal;
3.   Subject of Bhutan;
4.   Tibetan refugees who are permanently settled in India and came as on before1 January 1962.
5.   All persons migrated from Pakistan, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and East African countries of Kenya, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietman who are permanently settled in India are eligible for the test.

6.   Persons satisfying any of the above conditions (2),(3),(4) and (5) shall have a certificate of eligibility which has been issued by the government of Punjab.

Examination fee:-
•   General category: Rs 3000/-
•   Scheduled class/scheduled tribes And other backward classes- Rs 1125/-
•   Ex-servicemen of Punjab state: Rs 500/-
•   Physically handicapped: Rs1750/-
